Consignment with Caversham Framers

I am very happy to share that I am now consigned with Caversham Framers. Pink Pool (with panther) will be on view from their gallery today.

As I grew up in Caversham it’s really exciting for me to be able to have work showing in a gallery space that I have always enjoyed looking in on.

How do you choose art for yourself? Or if you haven’t bought art before, what would you like to have hanging in your home? I’ve recently started thinking about investing in some art for a new space we will have following an extension: a family area, a bigger kitchen and maybe something smaller in my studio space too.

I really love a simply decorated space with bright beautiful paintings (and colourful cushions) to bring a boring area of the house to life and in the past we have invested in vintage thrift prints and they have served us well, but I’m ready to take the plunge into something a bit different, maybe spend out a bit for those new spaces we will finally have (this work has been planned for nearly 9 years), I feel like I want to have something really exciting and fun. I’ve been exploring some wonderful fabric and collage artists to see if they can offer what I’m after and there are some great artists at Caversham Framers that Ive recently discovered too. What floats your creative boat?

Pink Pool is made with gouache on 300gsm Fabriano paper and is framed in a beautiful dark green stained wood frame with navy mount and art glass (framed by their sister shop Angles of Art in Tilehurst). It is ready to hang and will definitely bring a dull space to life. Pop in if you are local and have a browse.
